Yay, finally an experiment gone right! Semi-speedpaint, I guess? Putting this as a personal NPC for now. Here's a rough idea of who she is...Caramel
- Trapinch (Female)
- Jolly; Loves to eat
- Moves: Bite, Sand Attack, Dig, Substitute
- Hatched at Sandsong Desert.
This little Trapinch has quite the sweet tooth and builds sand pits in order to trap her prey! Little does she know, cake and other desserts don't just wander into sand pits by themselves. She isn't a big fan of meat or dirt, but will eat those when she has no alternatives.
When Caramel hatched, she found herself alone in a sandy burrow with the eggs of her siblings. She currently takes care of her younger sister, Toffee, who has quite the appetite for meat!
(I figured since bugs and other creatures don't usually take care of their young, her parents wouldn't have stuck around after the eggs had been laid.)LINKS

So...basically I made a sketch using SAI's marker tool on a multiply layer, and cleaned it up. Beneath that, I added the base color. Above the base color, I shaded with purple (Normal layer). I tweaked it bit by bit and merged the base colors with the shading...duplicated the new layer and messed around with Screen/Overlay, etc. until the colors looked better. Then I merged the sketch with everything and kept refining it via color drop/eraser/brush/watercolor/blur tool... duplicated the merged layer and kept experimenting with Screen/Overlay/Multiply/etc. until things looked the way I wanted it to look! So yay, no 20+ hour painting. This probably took 2-4 hours?
